I wish I *could* explain it :-). I'm guessing it was a cruel joke on the
instructors and our support by whomever designed our pods ;-)

A bit more seriously - all our recent material was written to utilize
*only* the copper port on R2, which is connected to Cat1's Fa0/2. You can
safely ignore the fiber connection between the two. Also, feel free to
ignore the Gi0/1 - Gi0/1 between Cat1 and Cat2. We'll be removing that link
in the future, too.
