                    Skillet Pineapple Upside-down Cake

     1/4           cup  butter or margarine
     1/3           cup  brown sugar
  1                     (20 ounce can sliced pineapple -- drained 
(reserve juice)
  1                box  white or yellow cake mix -- (18 1/4 ounce)
                        Maraschino cherries or pecan halves

In a heavy 10 inch skillet melt butter; add brown sugar.  Arrange 
pineapple rings along sides and in the middle of the skillet.  Place 
whole cherries or pecan halves in pineapple centers.
  Prepare cake mix according to package directions using the 
pineapple juice as the liquid.  Carefully pour the batter over the 
pineapple rings.  Cook, covered, over medium heat.  Test for doneness 
after 45-50 minutes.  Let cake stand 5 minutes in skillet; invert 
onto cake plate.
