President's Update November 2024 Hello BVARC!The year is quickly winding down,
just under 55 days left in 2024 we still have a few big events on the calendar.
This month we have the BVARC Elections, with various board positions up for a
vote. We hope you will join us November 14th for the November General Meeting,
where we will hold the elections AND have another great chilli supper (see
details below). Another reminder that despite the exhaustion our hometown and
the nation have had with hurricanes, we are STILL in hurricane season until the
end of this month. The current path of hurricane Rafael is projected to miss
us, but things can change and there may still be rough weather regardless. So
do keep those batteries charged and stay on the alert. This month for Brews
with BVARC we'll be heading to a brewery on the northside of Houston; one we've
never been to before called Walking Stick Brewing Company. They look great, and
our members have given us positive reviews (thanks Matt). Hope to see you
there, or at one of our many other club gatherings this month. Please review
our November calendar below. As always, check out our website BVARC.org for
updates, and for information on our weekly in-person events, nets, and other
resources. The November Newsletter has been posted on the BVARC.org website
LINK HERE. Don't forget about our social media as well! We have a Facebook
Page, a Discord Server, and YouTube channel for the club. Add the BVARC
Calendar to your calendar app (by clicking the link here), all events for the
next 30 days should be on that calendar as well as others as we confirm their
dates.<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>BVARC Calendar

BVARCTuesday November 12th at 6:30pmThis November we're heading to a new (for
us) brewery called Walking Stick Brewing Company in Houston. Their motto is
"Texas beer with Rocky Mountain roots". This brewery is located just north of
the Heights in Houston. As I often say on air, "we usually stay till they
close", so don't worry about getting there at 6:30pm if traffic will be more
favorable for you to get there at 8pm. Call us on 146.52MHz FM Simplex to let
us know when you're close and we can direct you to our table. As far as their
brews they have pilsners, saisons, porters, IPAs, and more. I'm especially
looking forward to trying their Mountain Berry Saison. They do fill growlers so
bring one if you want to fill up (I always keep one in my car in case I go by a
great brewery and want to take some home LOL). They have food on site served by
their own "Little Twiggy's" which sells bagel sandwiches if you want a bite to
eat while there. Please come on out if you can! It's always a fun
event.Where:Walking Stick Brewing Co.957 Wakefield Dr.Houston, TX 77018BVARC
