now, that might really be a neat idea. like merit badges. attend field day, get a ribbon or badge, participate in x number if vhf or hf nets get a badge, etc. and wear them on a bvarc vest or hat.

Regardless of his financial situation he did a lot for ham radio and
while I am a relatively new member some folks are deserving more than
others. That's why the military makes medals as awards for service.

Just think how you want to be remembered?
