Even if we consider Carl's solution is good, there is still some
problematic cases.
Just one example: r4 r8 a a a
Gerou's essential dictionary of music notation says page 33 that the first
one shouldn't be beamed to the others.
It also states that quavers should be beamed 2 by 2, except if there's a
full measure of quavers.
