@pkx166h: Thanks, that helps.

The most likely problem is that SP1 has changed read permissions
on a directory (probably Program Files).

There are several things that we could do to get more information
on this bug and solve it.

1. Install FileMon/process monitor: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645

and find out what file ghostscript is failing to get access to.

2. verify that on SP1:
    * [re-]installing lilypond in c:/program files/ exhibits this bug, and
* installing lilypond in another place, eg your desktop (c:/documents and settings/USER/Desktop) makes lilypond run fine

3. download and install a new version of ghostscript for windows and run that
to see if the problem goes away
