This error is almost always due to an incorrect duration or an
incorrect number of notes, so that notes incorrectly extend across
bar lines. Consistent use of bar checks will help to avoid this
problem. These are described in Bar and bar number checks in
section 1.2.5 Bars of the 2.12 Notation Reference.
