Follow-up Comment #9, sr #110397 (project autoconf):
Glad that worked, at least.
I have no way to know specifically what the problem was. In general, autoconf
(and automake subprograms) are a big stress test for m4, and afaik a lot of
non-GNU m4's fail.
The configure test that reads
"checking for GNU M4 that supports accurate traces"
should presumably fail with Apple's m4 (it was reported as succeeding).
Whether it's viable to sharpen that test, I can't say. I doubt Zack can do
much without access to a system with the insufficient m4 (and enough time to
look ...).
