The issue is that certain minority population groups (different ones, in different parts of the world) won't cut their reproduction rates, and then they *won't* be a small minority for that long. And some of these groups have, well, less than complimentary views of the culture of the majority of the population. (I guess I am biased on this one, and you can probably work out who I'm refering to..) This is admitedly a huge issue in the West with its less-than- replacement reproduction rates for majority ethnic groups, but it could become an issue elsewhere as well.
