Yes, but that's hardly a response to anything I wrote, is it? Or a response to anything I wrote explaining the different meanings of evolution and the evidence for each.

You seem to be saying that the only direct evidence is actually observing an event. You seem very hung up on this word "direct". Is a film of evolution happening, rather than a collection of bodies with time stamps, all you'd accept as "direct evidence" for the evolution of life on earth?
