Bin there dun that Pat

If you don't mind an ignorant question, "Why?" (WRT the emphasized
stmt.) The "old-school traditional approach" would think that
getting her to do something as ordered and teaching her to make
proper decisions would be better than indulging her daydreams.

At this point, my skin began crawling. I have BEEN there and LIVED
this. You have no idea how soul-crushing is the implied criticism of
words like "indulging her daydreams". It insists that she's "just"
daydreaming, which is apparently of no value in the "real" world.

I suspect from what I've read here (both on and in-between the lines) that a number of the members of this list know exactly how soul-crushing it is from having personally experienced it.

F**k That.

Freakin' slow-brains shoveled that shit down my throat for twelve years:

Only 12 years? I got the last couple while working on a Ph.D. (IOW, the second time I was in graduate school, after the Air Force.)

    "David does not apply himself."
"David needs to keep his mind on his work."
"David is not living up to his potential."

Read the next message I wrote.

I understand why the plodders are terrified of our constantly- shifting frames of reference: mental shape-shifters just freak them
out, and we won't play by their linear, rigid, so-called "focused"
way of thinking and learning.

Gadzooks, you hit a nerve.

Now, I have to stop writing this email and get some work done for a
12:00 meeting.

I hope it is not significant in that context that the time stamp on this message from you reads "1:37 PM" . . .

I'm Late!! I'm Late!! Maru
