A lot of the equipment they currently have is fine. I've seen M16A3s, M4A2s, M240s, and even 5.56mm miniguns, so in that dept they're doing fine...

It's not the munitions the soldiers are concerned with; it's defense. They have, essentially, none.

But I found it interesting on the news the other
night, when a soldier pointedly asked Rummy about
insufficient protection on relatively mundane vehicles
(mostly trucks), he him-hawed his way through the
question and sounded like an idiot....

He's like George in that respect. As soon as he goes off script he becomes a blithering moron. Well, more of one. (And to throw out the excuse that he's an old man ... well, old man, maybe it's time to go out to pasture.)

Rummy's answer was, in effect, that even if you have a heavily-armored tank it can still be blown up. The *sshole completely overlooked a major objection: Armor makes it much *harder* to blow up a vehicle, and helps protect those inside from small-arms fire.

He's a damned fool, and as far as I'm concerned he's a murderer. Just like George.
