If "oval" means that weird thing that USAns call a football [a game that does not use the foot nor a ball], then the Earth is _not_ an oval.
The game does, in fact, involve the feet (all that running and occasional kicking would be quite difficult without any feet. It also involves a ball, albeit not a spherical ball.
The earth is an oblate spheroid (of which an M&M is a more extreme example). An American football is actually a prolate spheroid.
