That was one of the funniest TV scenes I've ever seen! Les Nessman's over the top coverage of the "disaster" always made me think he thought he was covering the Hindenburg blaze or something. On the broader subject, I don't think sitcoms have gotten worse, but neither would I say that anything more than 5 years old is unwatchable. Some worthy sitcoms over the years: MASH - This show is eminently watchable (for me at least), even 20-30 years later. Hogan's Heroes - another classic I can always watch Newhart - It trailed off at the end, but had some good years. The Cosby Show - It went on way, way too long and got really preachy, but the first years were great. Murphy Brown - IMHO, a very smart show that maybe went a few years past its prime Seinfeld - I think people will stil appreciate these 10-20 years from now. Family Guy - Edgier than the Simpsons in some ways, this cartoon never got the attention it deserved Frasier - IMHO, better, more consistently funny than Cheers, which lingered on long after it ran out of gas. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
