Under the assumption that we've having a serious discussion of this... Most
addicts don't enjoy their addiction! The addictive behavior produces
endorphins, which satisfy a need, but that doesn't mean there is pleasure
involved, once something really is an addiction. We could debate the
definition of addiction for a long, long time without agreeing, but I'm
quite sure that "enjoying it" isn't a necessary part of it. I don't know
anyone who is self-righteous for the pleasure it brings them. Compulsive
behaviors such as addiction are about satisfying needs, not desires.

Phooey. I have decided that my original proposed policy about copyright,
etc., was wrong. I've been too hard on you sometimes and apologized. I've
been too easy on you sometimes, failing to draw appropriate boundaries. God
knows what I've failed to do, which I should have, but don't even realize.

Question: How do you know that you cannot and shall not be held
responsible? Crystal ball?

Look, I'm still discussing this! Damned addiction.

Nick
