Hi Mike,
..hair-raising? .... DEFINITELY check out the VERN WILLIAMS BAND. Vern
used to be part of Vern and Ray, and I've only been able to find a few cd's
with one or two songs from them together. But when they split, VERN made
his own band and he released two CD's (available on Amazon or
www.countysales.com (cheaper :)) If anyone knows if there are more albums
with VERN on them, please let me know! ...but Mike, please go out and get
these CDs...its as Hair-raising as it gets. This is the true stuff (all the
way from California, believe it or not :)

Hello all, my name is Mike and I am fairly new to the beautiful, hair
raising sounds that only bluegrass can offer. I have exhausted my search
for other bluegrass artists that make me feel the way that The Stanley
Brothers do.
From time to time when I travel to the hills of West Virginia I hear some
other bluegrass artists that make me feel that same way that Dr. Stanley
does, but I never get to hear the artists name. If anyone out here can be
so kind as to slip me a line with names of other artists that make you

the way I do about The Stanley Bros. (arm hair raising)it would be greatly
appriciated. Please, if the artist doesnt make you HOLLER and stomp your
feet please do not list them.
I already know of the late, great Bill Monroe, so you needent bother
writing
him on the list.
If you can find time to help me, your help would be greatly appreciated.

you know of many great pickers that I seek and keep that info to yourself
