Caught a wonderful banjo workshop at the Backbone Bluegrass Festival, which is held the last full weekend in July, near Strawberry Point, IA.  Dr. Stanley has never attended in the 22 years of it's history, but that's not my point.  The Wilders were there this year, among many other excellent groups.

Keith Yoder gave an EXCELLENT banjo workshop and among other things pointed out the stylistic difference in how say, Ralph Stanley would play this lick, vs. how Scruggs would play the lick, vs. somebody else.  It made want to switch off mandolin and get out that old Silvertone 5-string.

Let me know if you are interested in this nice medium-sized BGF.  Oh, by the way, I taped all three days.
