Hi Dark, I always seem to die the first time I jump. I shoot then try
to jump to the right, but jump into her rather than over her, so amn't
sure what i'm doing wrong?

time to get back into range with the bow, shoot her again, then jump.
Be careful of the minighosts she summons if you get too far away from
her.
She's tough the first time around, but if you keep jumping she's not
too bad, and the knack of getting weapon range and jumping away from
enemies is a useful technique all through the game.
