The grey lady is a super fast ghost who will instantly kill you if you
get close.
What you need to do is shoot at her from a distance, then when she comes
close, jump over her, get some distance between you, shoot, jump turn,
repeat.
What I've found generally works is shoot, jump, then jump a second time
to get back into range with the bow, shoot her again, then jump.
Be careful of the minighosts she summons if you get too far away from her.
She's tough the first time around, but if you keep jumping she's not too
bad, and the knack of getting weapon range and jumping away from enemies
is a useful technique all through the game.
