Thank you Betsy, but I'm afraid in my case Adobe simply does not process the document. As I explained in my original message after announcing that it has processed page five of one hundred and seventy (in this particular instance) it flicks back to the link on the original web page. Alt tab shows no window relating to Adobe or downloads, ... I've seen it happen before but then they were texts I wanted out of interest, this is work related and much more important. Besides, I'd like to understand the problem, and prevent any further repetitions.
