In total we had about 25 visitors to the tower, some for only a short time, and some for hours. A group of 4 Graduate Students from the Univ of Windsor joined us for several hours. Weather: A beautiful fall day, mostly sunny skies with temps starting the day at 10.7 C and rising to 12.5 C. Winds were constant today out of the S, with one hour SW. Our partial cloud cover of the morning diminished to zero by mid day. Raptor Observations: We had 12 species of raptor today, with our first Golden Eagle of the season on the far North edge of the marsh. Another big Turkey Vulture day with over 3300, along with numerous Norther Harriers, American Kestrel, and of course Sharp-shinned Hawks Non-raptor Observations: Blue Jays were moving in large numbers throughout the morning with a total of 18,660 counted. Huge murmurations of European Starlings moving back and forth along the North edge of the marsh. American Goldfinch were still moving in strong numbers.
