Visitors:
There were 5 visitors at the tower today. Thanks Kory and Chip for stopping
by. 


Weather:
Moderate to strong westerly winds persisted all day. The skies were
completely overcast for much of the day, with light drizzle in the morning,
but began to clear later in the afternoon. A 26.2 mph wind gust was
recorded at 10:30 am EST. Visibility began at about 4 km and finished near
8 km. The temperature remained constant at about 12 C.

Raptor Observations:
The day began slowly for migration but picked up slightly around mid day.
Turkey Vultures began to stream in around 11:00 am EST. Sharp-shinned Hawk
numbers also began to increase and 55 were observed between 1:00 pm - 2:00
pm EST. Two Merlin's buzzed by the tower at high speed allowing for good
but brief views. One Red-tailed Hawk and one juvenile Bald Eagle flew by
today. An Osprey was seen throughout the day. 

Non-raptor Observations:
Not too much was moving through the skies other than ducks and gulls. A
late Baltimore Oriole, a Rusty Blackbird, and a Green Heron were observed
today.

Winds are expected from the southwest tomorrow with sunny skies, a low of 3
