Visitors:
A pile of visitors today for the start of our 2nd open house weekends ...
no surprise given the great weather. Thanks to those folks that helped
with spotting and recording the birds... Tom B, Jen and Derek, Ronnie,
Chris B, Deepa, Tim R., Winston, Pete, Steve B., Keith and Bob J.
Weather:
Much cooler today after the passage of a very strong cold front that
brought severe weather to parts of Ontario and Quebec. Winds were light
from the N or NE for most of the count period then going straight from the
E for that last hour at which point the flight was basically done.
Raptor Observations:
A total of 826 birds today with the majority being Broadwings (655)
followed by Sharpies (71) and Am. Kestrels (57). Also a single Osprey, Bald
Eagle (6), N. Harriers (18), Cooper's Hawks (5), N. Goshawk (2), Redtails
(7) and finally Merlin (4) one of which sat in the Merlin tree across the
field.

warbler... Palm, Common Yellowthroat, Blackpoll, Bay-breasted, BT Green, BT
Blue, Tennessee, Am. Redstart, Wilson's, Cape May, Magnolia, N. Parula and
Nashville. Also Vireos... Warbling, Red-eyed and Philadelphia...
