from Tim Mccarthy via Ontbirds:

One of the Cardinal Rules (sorry) of Birding says that you can't have 2 really
good days in a row. I'll buy that one, but how about 1 really good followed by
1 pretty good?
That's what we had today:

Turkey Vulture 107
Bald Eagle 1
N. Harrier 1
Sharpshin 30
Coopers 1
Red Shoulder 18
Red Tail 165
Am Kestrel 3
Peregrine 2
Unid. Buteo 3
Unid. Eagle 2
Total 331
First thing this morning Joe and I got spooked when we both heard a Broadwing
call. You know - that high pitched Chee-err? A minute later a wiseguy Bluejay
showed up and said "Tickle! Tickle!" You know they've been up to mischief if
they say that.
Around 3:30 a fellow named Patrick Stepien- Scanlon claims to have seen a Black
Vulture go over Queen and Roncesvalles behind a bunch of Turkey Vultures. Bob
Yukich vouches for this man and that's good enough for me. Could this have been
one of our "Unidentified Eagles"? That's about as close to putting one of these
things on my list as I've ever been.
Thanks to all who came to the Hill today, particularly the Fields and the
Elliots.
Tomorrow the weather's supposed to be good again. Three in a row. Shall we
bust a birding rule together and have another really good one?
The Grenadier Restaurant parking lot is now newly paved. The silence is golden.
The lines aren't painted. You'll have to park by the hockey rink again.

Happy Hawking,

Tim
