Raptor Observations: 20 raptors of 6 species was low, but a fantastic passage of bald eagles occurred with a total of 7 for the day. We are on track for a great year for this species. 3 sharpies and 4 kestrels were indicative of the poor migration conditions from the head wind. Non-raptor Observations: A red-headed woodpecker flew over the count as well as a red-breasted nuthatch. Predictions: Tomorrow's northwest winds should bring lots of birds and really good passerine migration because of the ideal northerly wind conditions for nocturnal migrants. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Greg Norwood ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
