All the species mentioned by Mark Kubisch yesterday were on the mudflats again this morning, with the exception (I think) of the Spotted Sandpipers. I missed the Red Knot, but a fellow birder reported seeing it. In addition to yesterday's Pectoral, Baird's, Semipalmated, and Least Sandpipers, the Short-billed Dowitcher, the Lesser Yellowlegs, and the Semipalmated Plovers, there were a few Sanderling this morning.
Good birding, Skip Directions: Exit 401 at White's Road and go south to Bayly then east until you see the Gingerbread Daycare Centre (a low brown building all by itself in a large parking lot) on your right (there is a sign for it on Bayly St.). Park in their parking lot and walk east from the SE edge of the parking lot and follow the trail to the marsh then cross the creek to the mud flats where the creek meets Frenchman's Bay. Boots required. Sitting to rest on the old couch in the creek not recommended. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
