Hello:

This afternoon I had a Eared Grebe in basic plumage at Haviland Bay 25
minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie on Hwy.17. All 3 Scoters, about a dozen
Red-necked Grebes and a similar number of Horned Grebes as well as 3
Long-tailed Ducks and an assortment of other waterbirds were present. Turn
to the west off Hwy 17 on Haviland Sores Rd. which skirts the Bay and offers
several parkettes to view the waterfowl. The Eared Grebe spent most of its
time in the western part of the bay which can be best viewed from a small
park off Haviland Sores Rd. about 1/2 of a km in from the highway just past
the only bridge.
