Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter: Bob Pettit, Jim McCoy

Observers: Donna Bedard, Ed Pitts, Jim McCoy, Olga Klekner

Weather:
Start was 100% cloudy with no rain and clearing at 9am EST. The winds were
brisk at 12-19kn/he with gusts to 21. Temperature 18-20C.

Raptor Observations:
This brisk wind made the flight of some birds challenging and also
challenging was the identification of these contorted swift birds.
Peregrines were really bunched-up tighten winged Harriers. Vultures were
confused as to which way to go, i.e., shoreline, marshland or north
tree-line. Some changed their mind twice. All made it westward. One Merlin.

Non-raptor Observations:
The ducks were on the move all day. They seemed to be restless as one group
would take flight and head north another would go south or east or west.
Most landing were from the east. Very restless up and down in groups of
3-10. Not many song bird in the air but some calling from the tower base in
surrounding weeds and grasses. 1,000 BlueJays, 10 Am Crows.

Predictions:
Hopefully a wind shift to the west with WestSouthWest of moderate speed. No
rain. ;-)
