The morning was a mix of sun and cloud with heavier cloud cover moving into the area in the afternoon as a cold front approached from the west. Winds were strong and gusty from the southwest. Raptor Observations: The flight was quite stagnant with much of the movement limited to some sizable if not large groups of TVs. Non-raptor Observations: Most likely sparked by the approaching frontal system, thousands of Tree Swallows migrated today along with probably dozens of Rough-wings. A couple of Chimney Swifts were also noted. I was looking hard for Cave Swallows today even if it is a bit on the early for that species, but with the weirdness of the weather during October anything is possible. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
