This aft : 5 Cackling geese in the large pond north one km
of Hwy 7 on the east side of the Markham Bypass - the
construction site barrens and a buffetting west wind making
them feel at home while Jean Iron - herself familiar with the
tundra - asked them to grin for the camera - a sandstorm
sent them flying along with most of the Canadas - a legion
of gulls including a couple of Lesser black-backed gulls -
[a common species around here] held their place - S Long
