Winds were fairly strong and gusty out of the west-northwest. Raptor Observations: With the direction and intensity of wind, the flight was spread over a very broad front and strongly dominated by another very big vulture movement. Yes, there is still a lot of TVs out there and probably will be until the end of the month, putting us on record pace. Perhaps surprisingly there were not a lot of other birds moving along with the vultures comparatively. However, the first good passage of Golden Eagles was seen today and overall the diversity was good if the numbers werent. Non-raptor Observations: In the non-raptor category, one and possibly two Cave Swallows were seen today. This is a bit on the early side by about 2.5 weeks compared to the usual pattern of vagrancy for this species in the East. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
