Hi Everyone
Today, July 27, 2005, I birded along the Ottawa River at Shirley's Bay Overall, birding was very good with lots of activity including my first juvenile shorebird- 3 Least Sandpiper. Water levels were low with a large mudflat exposed with 100+ shorebirds feeding, consisting of Lesser and Greater Yellowlegs, Solitary,Pectoral, Semipalmated and Least Sandpiper, Killdeer, Semipalmated Plover and Wilson's Snipe. Near the base of the dyke there was an impressive movement of warblers including 100+ Yellow, 3 Bay-breasted, 3 Nashville, 1 Tennessee, 8 Black & White, 1 Chestnut-sided and 1 Northern Waterthrush. Nearby 3 Black-crowned Night-heron and 8 Green Heron were noted. At Deschenes Rapids an adult Caspian Tern was observed resting in a flock of Ring-billed Gulls.
                                                               good birding
                                                               Bruce
