A buff-breasted sandpiper can be seen in the 'new grass' at the
intersection between County Rd 20 and Creek Rd, North side of bridge. The bird
spends most of the time in the grass approx 10-15 ft from the shore. Russ, my
son and I found the bird at 4:30PM and it is still there at 5:30.

Be patient it hides for long periods of time, good luck.

Big Creek is located between Amherstburg and Malden Centre on old HW 18, Essex
County. Approx 1 mile from Holiday Beach turning heading towards A'burg.

Good birdin'
Len Jones.

Inspired by Bruce Di Labio's posting of migrants, I took a brief walk in the
BSG this morning.
I only saw one Warbler, other than the resident Yellows, but it was a
beauty; a Blackburnian. A real surprise. That's about a month earlier than
my previous record for that species in the BSG.
Thanks, Bruce.
Nothing else exceptional; Cedar Waxwings, Spotted Sandpiper, Cliff Swallows,
(they nest under the 407), GB Heron, Catbirds, etc..

The Bartley Smith Greenway starts at Dufferin and Steeles, (the northern
boundary of Toronto), running north following the valley of the West Don.
One of several access points is at the second lights north of Steeles (Glen
Shields Avenue), on the west side of Dufferin Street.
The Blackburnian was seen along the the section just before the Highway 407
bridge.
