Hi Everyone
Today, during a sunny morning and early afternoon visit to the usual
sites, only a few owls could be found, but during a late afternoon check at
a few sites I recorded 20+ Great Gray Owls. It appears that on sunny days
fewer birds are active until dusk. Both Saturday and Sunday it was overcast
and the owls were active during the day time. It was great to see three
feeding in one field, all being successful in catching prey. On the down
side of this invasion, I've heard of two being struck and killed by cars in
the Carling Ave./Shirley's Bay area.
