Greetings Ontbirds people,

Just an update on the rare birds seen recently in the Ottawa area:

Both the ROSS'S GOOSE and the TUFTED TITMOUSE were still present today, in
the Reid's Mills and Hallville areas south of Ottawa this morning (Nov.
26th). The Ross's Goose was seen between 9:25 and 9:35 AM at the pond along
Regional Rd. #1 (see directions below), with a flock of approx. 108 Snow
Geese. The Titmouse came to the feeder at 1676 Christina Crescent in
Hallville (directions also below) at approx. 9:30 AM both yesterday and
today.

The female SUMMER TANAGER at 51 Starwood Rd. in Ottawa has not been seen
since November 14th, this was confirmed by the property owner who also last
saw the bird at her feeder on the 14th.

Thanks to Tony Beck & Wilson Hum for the info on the Titmouse, and to Sheila
Sweeting for the Tanager update.

Directions to Ross's Goose: From Hwy 416, take exit 57 to Bankfield Rd., go
south and then east through Manotick. Cross the Rideau River along the main
east-west drag (Mitch Owens Rd.) and look for Stagecoach Rd. (traffic-light
T-intersection) on your right. Right (south) on Stagecoach and proceed
through Osgoode to Reid's Mills, where Stagecoach becomes Regional Rd. #1.
There is a pond in a farm field on the east side between farms #1215 and
#1255.

Directions from the Ross's Goose to the Titmouse are: Continue south on the
#1 to Hallville, turn right on St. John, then immediately right on Christina
Crescent. The address is 1676 Christina Cr. Please stay on the east side of
the property near the pines, and do not approach the feeders.

If you are coming from the south, you can also find these locations (in the
reverse order), by taking Hwy 416 to exit 34 (Kemptville), then Hwy 43 east
to Kerrs Ridge Rd., turn left on Kerr's Ridge, left on St. John and right on
Christina.

Good birds to all!
