Hello again, The European Goldfinch is still in the area. I was not home again today but a message left on my answering machine said that he was at a feeder about 3/4 of a mile across the lake from me. Mrs. Burnham told me he was there for nearly half an hour at about 12.30 pm.
Big new story........ on our way home from the 'city' we were able to watch a Great Gray Owl for 10 minutes. He first flew across the road in front of us and landed on a large branch of a 'downed' tree at the side of the road. My husband and a friend Mrs. Wilson were delighted at the spectacle. We dropped in on another friend who is retired from the MNR and told him about the owl. Imagine my surprise when he informed me that the owl had been hanging around for some time.....in the same area. The location of the Owl is some 20 km from Gowganda just past Long Point Lodge between the 121 &122 km marker. ( for local birders) Did I tell you I was going to GLUE a camera to my chest???????
