Friday, Oct.29 was a fairly windy (out of the east) day at the Cranberry Marsh Raptor Watch. Rough-legged Hawks were constantly appearing in the east, and before continuing westward most of them elected to hang about hovering over the meadowlands to the east. The 8 observers had some great looks at most of the 37 that were counted-- all of them were Light morphs. Over a period of 5 hours we also counted 6 TVs, 1 N.Harrier, 9 Red-taileds, 1 Peregrine and a distant Unidentified Falcon. 3 Monarch Butterflies were noted. At 1143 a Cackling Goose flew westward low over the wetlands with 4 Canada Geese.
