For the past two days, I have observed (via the web cam) that the
Peregrines on the east tower of the Clarica Centre (Bloor and
Islington) may be in the process of nesting. They share regular
"shifts" on the nest box and one or the other always appears to be on
duty. Once in the box each bird "hunkers" down (almost flat) and
remains in the same position for long periods of time.

I have captured several web cam photos of them. One photo from
yesterday shows a dark spot that may possibly be an egg. I would be
interested to learn if anyone else has info to share about them.

At lunchtime today , (12.30), a friend and I were surprised to see a Great
Egret hunched on the east side of Fingal Wildlife pond, in Elgin Co. Dave
Martin is checking the Elgin records to see if this is the earliest record.

>From 401 take Shedden exit south , and continue to Fingal. Turn west,
passing main entrance to Wildlife area, then take first left ( Scotch line),
to a parking lot on left from which you can see a blind. This is at the
pond. Walk quietly over.
