This afternoon (Sunday) on a South Peel Naturalists' Club field trip
ably lead by Joyce Lechasseur we saw approximately 2000 Tundra Swans
roosting on open fields east of the 8 th conc just north of the
westerly Lower Sideroad. This road is west of Lee Brown Wildlife Area
on Haldimand-Norflock Road 42 (Lakeshore Road) and the first road west
of County Road 23. It connects to County Road 23 (forming a triangle)
at the 3rd Concession. Best advice I can give is roll down the
windows and listen.

We also located a pair of Sandhill Cranes foraging in a field on the
first road west of Lee Brown's (West Quarter Line) between Concession
A and Lakeshore Road. For once we could not hear the cranes in the
wind.
