On Wednesday (24th) I spotted a juvenile (1st year) BALD EAGLE on Hwy. 35 near Mountain Lake. It briefly landed on a stump-post on the east side of the Hwy. and then landed on a snag in a roadside swamp about 40 m from the road, which allowed excellent views around 3 p.m. This location is 400 m north of Clarence Road, which is about 5 km north of Minden. Two COMMON RAVENS harassed it briefly.
