On Friday (26th) there were 3 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS on Wylie Road, south of
Sedge Wren Marsh on the Carden Alvar. A fourth ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was on
Wylie Road, about 1 km north of the marsh. A flock of 60 SNOW BUNTINGS was
also seen southwest of the marsh on Wylie Road. In the willows on the north
side of the marsh, I also found 4 COMMON REDPOLLS.

I then went to the north side of Lake Dalrymple, where a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK
was observed north of Wolf Run Lane, just west of Lake Dalrymple Road. A
NORTHERN SHRIKE was also present on the power lines just west of the
junction of Lake Dalrymple and Dartmoor roads.

Wylie Road/Sedge Wren Marsh is reached by driving east of Orillia on Hwy. 12
to Brechin. From just south of Brechin, take Road 47 east and north to Road
6. Go east on Road 6 to McNamee Road. Follow McNamee about 100 m to Wylie
Road and travel north through the pastures to the marsh. Continue north on
Wylie to Alvar Road and turn west. Turn north at Sugar Bush Road, which
turns into Lake Dalrymple Road.

CAUTION: MANY OF THE GRAVEL ROADS IN THIS AREA ARE QUITE NARROW AND ICY
