Hello Ontbirders
The Black-headed Grosbeak was observed again at the feeder of
Wayne Griese and Karen Richter near Pakenham. The bird was present off
and on yesterday, Dec.25 and was present today December 26 feeding at
7:40am. In the recent milder conditions the Grosbeak appears not as
often and for shorter times than when it is colder.. The feeder can be
viewed from the road.
Directions: From Ottawa take Hwy. 417 west towards Arnprior and exit
at March Rd.(#155). Turn left and follow road to Almonte. Go through
the town and turn right onto County Road 29. Follow road 10 km towards
Pakenham and then turn left on Cedar Hill Side Road and travel 4.3 km
until you
reach a " T" intersection. Turn right and follow 6th Con. Pakenham
which turns into Bellamy Road for 2.2km. The house is at 339 Bellamy
Road.
