Winds were moderate to strong out of the west and west-northwest. Weather conditions such as these may have resulted in a significant flight later in the fall but at this early date a modest total was recorded. Observations: In the non-raptor category, about 75 Common Nighthawks were seen passing through on their way south between 3 and 4 pm EST., a sure sign of the end of summer. On a similar note, hummingbirds were not nearly as visible today as they had been. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
