Weather:
Today was a less humid and somewhat cooler day with the passage of a cold
front overnight. Winds were moderate to strong out of the west and
west-northwest. Weather conditions such as these may have resulted in a
significant flight later in the fall but at this early date a modest total
was recorded.

Observations:

In the non-raptor category, about 75 Common Nighthawks were seen passing
through on their way south between 3 and 4 pm EST., a sure sign of the
end of summer. On a similar note, hummingbirds were not nearly as visible
today as they had been.
