Weekly report from the Cabot Head Research Station of the Bruce Peninsula
Bird Observatory
(August 25-September 1st)
Some movements of migrants were detected this week, however in small numbers
: Cedar Waxwings and American Robins have started to move through. A good
wave of Myrtle Warblers was noted the 1st of September
On August 25th, a Yellow-throated Vireo and an Olive-sided Flycatcher were
seen.
On August, the 31st, the first birds of the fall for Western Palm Warbler,
SwaisonÂ’s Thrush and Golden-crowned Kinglet were either observed or banded.
On September 1st, a young Dickcissel (possibly a male) was observed for a
few minutes in a small bush.
Cabot Head is located near Dyer's Bay, on the Bruce Peninsula.
