Ontbirders The southwest lagoon at Townsend offers superb shorebird habitat. Of the 250 or so shorebirds (mostly juveniles) there late this Saturday afternoon the more interesting were one Red-necked Phalarope, one Wilson's Phalarope, five Stilt Sandpipers (1 A), 28 Short-billed Dowitchers.
Anything could show up. Directions: From the intersection of Hwy 6 and 3 in Jarvis proceed west on #3 to the second road heading off to the right (north). North to first left (14th concession road). Lagoons are on your right about 200 metres down this road.
