The buff-breasted sandpiper was still feeding this morning, Aug. 23, at 9:00 a.m. It was somewhat difficult to find, and was moving around because of a tractor working
on the field. The best vantage point this morning was from Hawkins Road,
to the North part of the the sod farm.

Also present were many killdeer and horned larks.

Directions: From Hwy 401 take the Welcome/Port Hope exit, Exit 461, and go
north on Hwy.2 to the first stop sign. Turn east on Dale Road, County
Road 74, for 1.5 km and turn north on Sylvan Glen Road.
Hawkins Road runs up the east side of the sod farm about 200m east of Sylvan
Glen Road and is sometimes the better viewing spot.
