Hello Birders

This morning I birded from Southampton to Port Elgin and down to MacGregor
Provincial Park. Shorebirds were the most common. On Horseshoe Bay and
Mirimichi Bay I found Semi Palmated Plover(12), Kildeer (16), Greater
Yellowlegs (10), Lesser Yellowlegs (2), Dunlin (4) and Least Sandper (4).
Nothing seen in Port Elgin. At MacGregor Park I saw 2 Spotted Sandpiper,
some Common Mergansrs. They were still families of American Redstart, Black
capped Chickadees. Also seen were American Goldfinch and lots of Cedar
Waxwings.
Mirimichi and Horseshoe bays are north of Port Elgin between Port Elgin and
Southampton. Take the 10th Conc. of Saugeen west from Hwy #21 and take the
first turn right along the shore. The birds were all close to the road as it
winds around the bays.
MacGregor Provincial Park is South of Port Elgin. Take the 4th Conc. of
Saugeen west from Hwy #21 and follow the signs to the Park. There are lots
of trails in the Park.

Yours in Birding
