Hi Birders,
Although no surprise, I observed and heard SEDGE WRENS at two spots along
Rondeau's Marsh Trail this morning. These were just before the parking lot
(half-way point) out the trail. Same area as they were last summer and this
spring. Probably involved 3 or 4 birds.
I did not spot any migrant warblers (except Yellow) today in the park. Last
Saturday (July 26) though, I came across an early Tennessee Warbler on south
point trail.
Blenheim lagoons are quite excellent for shorebirds. There are several
hundred of about 12 species of the common types. Several Great Blue Herons
are present. A couple of Lesser Scaup (male) were present on Saturday.

Lagoon directions: Blenheim is located between Chatham and Rondeau
Provincial Park. Exit the 401 at what they used to call Hwy. 40, exit 90.
Go south to Blenheim. At the main street in Blenheim (stop light) turn
right/west.
Go out of Blenheim on this road (old Hwy.3,
now called the Talbot Trail) for approx. 1.5 km. Turn right (north) on
Lagoon
Rd. (at carwash) and continue north 1 km. to the lagoons. I remind you that
you should have a permit from the town office (35 Talbot St.) located in
Blenheim.
