Dear Fellow Birders Today Seabrooke Leckie and myself stopped at the Burlington Beach Canal today to look for the Eared Grebe and King Eider reported and neither were seen. However, two molting Horned Grebes were seen there, along with two Red-necked Grebes, along with both Scaup, W-w Scoters, Canvasback, Redheads, along large numbers other waterfowl, which may warrant a more thorough searching. We also stopped at Jones Rd, where a adult male King Eider was supposedly seen a half hour before, but it was not seen there or at Fruitland Rd, though there were large numbers of waterfowl there. The only bird of interest there was a Red- necked Grebe.
Directions: Burlington Beach Canal - Exit the QEW Niagara at Eastport drive and follow this over the liftbridge and there is a parking lot on the left side (lakeside). Fruitland Rd - Exit the QEW Niagara at Fruitland Rd and follow it north to the lake. Mike Boyd Guelph, Ontario Mike Boyd <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
