Hi all!
I finally found this bird at the foot of Jones Ave. which is between Fifty Point and Fruitland at about 1pm to-day. It is a magnificent bird with pronounced orange shield shining in the sunlight. It was in a large mixed raft not too far out and moving to the left. I also had a very white 1st. winter Glaucous and an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull near the ship canal on the bay side at about 10am. No luck with the Gyr either, but I'm heading out to look for the Barrow's Goldeneye at Bronte and will report if successful.
